Fabricators Recruitment Day

SAISD continues our celebration of the Class of 2022 countdown to cap and gown by featuring the inaugural Fabricator’s Recruitment Day, a special opportunity SAISD Career and Technical Education (CTE) welding students participated in last Thursday, May 19, 2022, to connect them to future job opportunities after graduation.

Born out of a growing partnership with the San Angelo Chamber of Commerce Economic Development team, the San Angelo Regional Manufacturer’s Alliance (SARMA), the SAISD CTE program and Howard College, the event brought together five local businesses currently looking to hire for fabrication welding positions with 19 graduating seniors who have completed SAISD’s two-year welding certification program.

Care Solace - It's okay to ask for help.

As part of our commitment to the health, safety, and well-being of our students, staff, and families, San Angelo ISD is partnering with Care Solace to offer a free resource to expand access to community mental health and substance use treatment providers. Care Solace is an organization determined to calm the chaos of mental health care coordination, and will connect our students, staff and families with a Care Companion™ team to quickly and confidentially find available providers in the community. Care Solace also equips schools with a customized online tool that gives community members a way to anonymously search for community-based providers matched to their needs.

Dear SAISD Families, Students and Staff,

We are shaken to the core after hearing the devastating news from Uvalde CISD. Our schools should be places of learning, hope, and celebration-  a safe spot to grow success in the future.  We mourn the lives lost in Uvalde, and are deeply saddened by the fear it creates for school communities.

The recent news is alarming, senseless, and causes uncertainty in our community. It is imperative that our district and I do everything possible to create the conditions where parents and students feel safe and comfortable in our schools. My two daughters attended schools in San Angelo ISD and graduated from our school system. As a parent, I understand the urgency to keep our schools safe, protect our children, and work diligently to prevent similar tragedies from impacting San Angelo and our schools.
