SAISD Schools Delayed Tuesday, January 31, 2023 Due to Inclement Weather

Due to a winter storm warning issued by the National Weather Service and anticipated icy road conditions on bridges and overpasses, San Angelo ISD will be operating on a 2-hour delayed schedule tomorrow, January 31, 2023 for the safety of our students and staff. Buses will run two hours later than normal pick up time. 

Additional details:

• Elementary school students should report to their normal classroom. 
• Middle school students should report to their first period classroom as they will operate on a compressed schedule. This means students will go to all classes but for a shorter period of time. 
• High school students should report to their 3rd period classroom as they will begin with that class period. Any activities regularly scheduled during 1st and 2nd period will be canceled for the day.

SAISD has been in constant contact with the National Weather Service, TxDOT, the Department of Public Safety, and other local agencies. In addition, SAISD crews drive the roads to assess driving conditions. 

A decision regarding potential closures for tomorrow, Tuesday, January 31, 2023, can be made anytime tomorrow morning prior to 10am. It is important to note that decisions made regarding school delays and/or closures are not based on temperature, but icy road conditions that make travel dangerous.
