San Angelo ISD Partners with Care Solace for Mental Health Care Coordination Services

As part of our commitment to the health, safety, and well-being of our students, staff, and families, San Angelo ISD is partnering with Care Solace to offer a free resource to expand access to community mental health and substance use treatment providers. Care Solace is an organization determined to calm the chaos of mental health care coordination, and will connect our students, staff and families with a Care Companion™ team to quickly and confidentially find available providers in the community. Care Solace also equips schools with a customized online tool that gives community members a way to anonymously search for community-based providers matched to their needs.

“We care about our students, staff, families and community, and recognize mental health is an issue for our community and nation. Since early January, SAISD district leaders have been researching resources to provide increased mental health support,”  said Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources and Professional Development Dr. Farrah Gomez. “Through our partnership with Care Solace we can provide an additional layer of support to connect students, staff and family members to mental health and substance use treatment providers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year. We want our students, staff and families to have access, especially during the summer months when they are not connected to school resources.”

SAISD is working with Care Solace to support our commitment to the overall well-being of our students, staff and families and provide a safe and healthy learning environment.

With Care Solace, families and staff gain access to a dedicated Care Companion™ to navigate the mental health care system on their behalf, calling providers to find the right fit and availability. They help families with private insurance, Medicaid, and no insurance, and are available 24/7/365 in any language including Spanish.

Starting today, May 25, 2022, SAISD students, parents/guardians, staff and immediate family members can connect with Care Solace assistance in four ways:

  1. Call (888) 515-0595 at any time to speak with someone from the Care Solace team.
  2. Video chat by visiting our direct access link for SAISD students, families, staff and immediate family members: www.caresolace.com/saisd, select “Book Appointment” and then the “Virtual Chat” button.
  3. Email Care Solace at weserve@caresolace.org with your contact information, your preferred language, and a good time to reach you.
  4. Contact your student’s school counselor who can provide a referral on your behalf.

As an additional option, a direct self-search option through the resources is available at the Care Solace website (www.caresolace.com/saisd). After answering 10 questions, users will receive an extensive list of referrals to applicable care providers.

All information shared with Care Solace remains completely confidential and securely stored.

Care Solace’s care navigation system uses proprietary technology and a vast database of behavioral and mental health care resources to find carefully verified therapists and programs in minutes.

"The return to in-person learning and the lasting effects of loss and grief pose new challenges for staff and families in the 2021-22 school year," said Chad Castruita, Founder and CEO of Care Solace. "We are proud to support San Angelo ISD in prioritizing the well-being of its school community by providing timely access into mental health care and substance use treatment services.”

The Care Solace service is now available at no cost to SAISD students, staff, and their families. For more information about Care Solace, please visit www.caresolace.org. Follow the San Angelo ISD Facebook, Twitter, and website, www.saisd.org, to stay up-to-date on San Angelo ISD.
